Welcome to our Year 5 Class Family page

My name is Mrs Hamond and I teach Year 5.  I have worked at Silverdale Primary for a very long time (20 years!)  I love being a teacher and helping children to be the best they can be.

As well as being your teacher I also lead Reading and PSHE across the school.

Year 5 is the year when your teamwork skills will flourish!

Entry & exit

When you arrive at school in the morning you will come through the left gates, walk down the path onto the school playground. Follow to the climbing frame and on your right you will enter through the double white doors at the top of the playground.

At the end of the day, I will walk the children to the main gates at the front of the school where they can meet their parents.  Alternatively, Year 5 parents of children will sign a permission form, you will be allowed to walk home.

Assessment

Following on from Year 4, the children need to learn and know all times tables up to 12x12. TT rockstar 10-15 minutes daily supports the children with retaining their times tables.

We assess our learning throughout the year using PIRA assessments in reading and PUMA assessments in Maths.
