Uniform

We believe that uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and instils a sense of pride in its pupils. Uniform also supports positive behaviour and discipline; encourages identity with and support for, the school ethos and ensures pupils of all races and backgrounds feel welcome and free from social pressures to dress in a particular way.  

The Silverdale Primary Academy Uniform is as follows:  

  • School sweatshirt/cardigan with school logo 
  • Polo shirt: jade green with school logo (for Nursery and Reception only) 
  • Pleated, plaid skirt 
  • Grey school trousers 
  • Plain white shirt 
  • Purple tie (tie is given to all Y1 pupils free of charge)
  • Plain black or grey tights 
  • Pale lilac gingham summer dress 
  • Plain black school shoes   
  • A coat for play time 
  • Long hair should be tied back 
  • No acrylic nails or nail varnish 
  • Children must not wear any jewellery other than small earrings (all jewellery should be removed for PE and swimming)
  • No make up 

Indoor PE Kit 

  • Black shorts 
  • White t-shirt 
  • Bare feet or black pumps  

Outdoor PE Kit 

  • Black shorts or tracksuit 
  • White t-shirt/black sweatshirt 
  • Outdoor trainers 

Uniform can be purchased at Smart School Uniform in Newcastle.

Items such as blouses, shirts, trousers, dresses and PE kits can all be bought from local supermarkets.
 
Preloved items of uniform are available from the school office at £1 per item. Please speak to the Family Liaison Officer if you need support with purchasing school uniform.
