In Year 1 to Year 6

• Where appropriate a live link may be emailed so that the child receive live teaching In EYFS home learning will be available on the school website 'Learning From Home' year group Sway page. This will include videos of teacher modelling where appropriate.
• Links to live teaching will be emailed to the parent for the child to join the class on Teams where appropriate for example, in direct teaching time or Story Time.
• Where Phonics is not accessed via live teaching, a daily video will be uploaded the Year group Sway page on the website.

Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 = 3 hours

Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 = 4 hours

If provided with a Chromebook - all children have a log in a password provided in the paperwork to access the Chromebook

If using the Chromebook - the link to the Live Teams Lessons will be sent to the child's email address provided in the paperwork

If accessing on a home device - the link to the Live Teams Lesson will be emailed to the parent email address

Teams can be access via the browser or by downloading the Teams app

For year 1 -6:

For Nursery and Reception:

• Live teaching of phonics where appropriate
• Information for parents to support learning at home, including information on Microsoft Sway, including pre recorded videos for Phonics and other sessions where appropriate. 
• Online Reading access via Bug Club daily
• Commercially available websites supporting the teaching of specific subjects or areas, including video clips or sequences

We recognise that some pupils may not have suitable online access at home. We take the following approaches to support those pupils to access remote education:

• If your child does not have access to appropriate technology, they will be offered a Chromebook 
• You will be given a time to collect these, or arrangements will be made for delivery to the home.
• You will be asked to sign for delivery and will have the opportunity to ask for support in setting this up.
• In the extremely rare occasion where access to technology is still not possible, you will be invited to collect and return paper packs to school. This is only offered as a last resort.

• Your child is expected to complete the work set
• Where your child is invited to a live lesson, they are expected to attend. Where they do not attend, we will make a phone call to you to ensure that this happens
• We expect parents to support their child’s learning, including ensuring that they are available and online for any live teaching
• You will receive information about what we expect during live teaching. Please ensure that your child follows these expectations

• There will be daily live teaching sessions which will allow teachers to check on your how well your child is doing
• We will offer smaller group sessions to support some pupils where appropriate
• If your child is not online when we expect them to be, we will make a phone call home to check
• If your child is not completing and submitting work, your child’s class teacher will call you to discuss this. They will talk to you about how you can help

Feedback can take many forms and may not always mean extensive written comments for individual children; for example, whole-class feedback or quizzes marked automatically via digital platforms are also valid and effective methods, amongst many others. Our approach to feeding back on pupil work is as follows:

• We might ask your child to send their work back via email. This might be through their email account or yours. A photograph and screen shots work well for this.
• We will sometimes use online quizzes to check if your child has understood what they have been learning.
• Your child will have at least one opportunities during the week to feedback how they are doing to their teacher about their work. This might be during a live streamed lesson, via phone call to parents or via an online survey.

We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with SEND, may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:

• If your child has special educational needs and/ or disabilities, we will speak to you directly about their support. They will continue to be supported by the adults who work with them in school through live teaching or additional recorded information. This work will match what they would access in school as far as is practicable. There might be some circumstances where this is not possible, but we will speak to you directly about this.
• For younger children in Nursery and Reception, we will invite them to some live teaching in small groups for phonics and small group work. We will help you to get them online for this. We will also send information about activities you can do at home to support your child. This will include some pre-recorded lessons and stories.

If your child is not in school because they are self-isolating, we will follow the same approach as above. We will contact you to discuss our child’s learning at least once a week.
