“The inspirational leadership of the headteacher, coupled with highly skilled management of other leaders and effective governance, has brought about significant improvements in teaching and pupils’ outcomes.” Ofsted, December 2016
Rated ‘GOOD,’ with ‘OUTSTANDING’ leadership!
It is tremendous that the Ofsted Inspection Team recognised what we have known for some time, which also validates Silverdale Primary Academy being the top performing school within the local area, as seen over two years in the league tables for 2015 and 2016.
Key points raised by Ofsted, of which we are particularly proud, are:
- Pupils are confident, articulate and keen to do well at school. They are proud of their school and their individual achievements.
Parents have very positive views of the school. ‘My children have gone from strength to strength and love learning’ was typical of the text responses received.
- There is a strong culture of safeguarding within the school, which successfully teaches pupils to keep themselves safe.
Consistently good teaching enables all pupils to achieve well. Teachers and teaching assistants work extremely well as a united team to cater fully for pupils’ needs.
- Children make good progress in early years. Teachers plan exciting activities, which help children build their confidence and independence. Every child is known as an individual.
