Welcome from the Head

Welcome to Silverdale Primary Academy

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Silverdale Primary Academy’s website. This website is designed to enable you to discover more about our school.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Silverdale Primary Academy. It is our children and team of staff who make this school a wonderful place to be. Whenever I show visitors around our school, they comment on how polite our children are, as well as the overall sense of calm and happiness that exists as the children engage in learning. We believe in building strong, positive relationships between our pupils, parents, staff, Governors and the community and we welcome visitors to our academy.

It is our aim to drive teaching and learning through forward-thinking determination, to enable all of our pupils to achieve their best. We have a committed team of staff who work incredibly hard and put children at the heart of all they do. We have many opportunities for pupil voice, including a proactive School Council, supportive Play Leaders and helpful monitors. I believe that listening to each other and reflecting on our school practice is the key to the continuous cycle of improvement.

We work hard to ensure that every lesson counts, with new learning at the centre of our approach. Meeting the needs of basic skills, including reading, writing and maths, is interwoven in our curriculum in order to maximise all learning opportunities. Our standards for behaviour and safety are very high. Our children talk about being ambassadors for our academy and their behaviour for learning reflects this.

Our academy is set in beautiful school grounds with vibrant classrooms aimed to inspire learning. We have a secure environment in which our children can learn.

We are lucky to be part of United Learning. This provides us with a solid platform on which to build, as we work closely alongside an outstanding National Teaching Primary Academy. We are also committed to building effective local links with neighbouring schools.

To arrange a visit, please call our office on 01782 297470. We look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes
