Nursery and Reception
We admit children in the September term after their third birthday to our Nursery which is part of the Early Years Foundation Stage along with our Reception class.
This is recognised as a separate stage of learning, laying the foundations for when children begin more formal education. There is an emphasis on learning through active play, creating and thinking critically and playing and exploring. This is planned for as we build on the children’s individual needs and interests relating to the following seven areas of learning:

Each child’s journey through the Early Years Foundation Stage is recorded in their ‘Profile’ and parents are encouraged to input into these to share in this journey too. At the end of Reception children are assessed against the Early Learning Goals to see how we can best support them with their transition to Year 1.
