Silverdale Primary Academy students swapped their uniform for pyjamas to help celebrate World Book Day on 1st March.
The junior readers donned their nightwear and took their favourite book and teddy to school, taking part in a range of activities in support of the global literary event.
The school’s older pupil’s joined the younger children to share and read stories, as well as creating their own posters, having a story read to them by surprise visitors and writing stories.
All of the children then shared their wonderful work at a special end of day assembly, where prizes were presented to the winners of a creative arts project linked to pupils’ favourite books!
Commented Lindi Nejrup, Headteacher at Silverdale Primary Academy:
“World Book Day is always incredibly popular here at Silverdale Primary Academy and this year was no exception, with all of our children and staff really getting into the spirit of the event. Also, a big thank you to Mrs Hoskins, who helped to organise the event.”
