The school, previously known as Silverdale Primary Community School, has joined United Learning – a group of academies and independent schools located across the country. As part of United Learning, the primary school will be able to share best practice with schools across the country and staff will benefit from the Group’s wide range of high-quality professional development opportunities.
The primary academy will work particularly closely with United Learning’s Corngreaves Primary Academy which is a National Teaching School and has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. The Head Teacher of Corngreaves, Michelle Green, will be Silverdale’s Executive Principal and will work closely with Silverdale Head Teacher Lindi Nejrup.
Lindi Nejrup, the school’s Head Teacher, said:
“We are very pleased to be beginning 2014 as a part of United Learning. It is always exciting to return to the school after the Christmas holidays but this year there is an added buzz about the school.
“Over the past year, we have been working very closely with United Learning who have provided invaluable support as we seek to drive up standards across the school. We are looking forward to meeting all the other schools in the Group and working with them.”
Jon Coles, Group Chief Executive of United Learning, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Silverdale Primary Academy properly into United Learning. Although colleagues at Corngreaves Primary Academy have been working very closely with the school for the past year, it is only today that we are able to celebrate its new beginning as an academy.
“There is some excellent work underway at the school and we look forward to continuing to support staff as they drive the school forward and ensure that each and every pupil receives the high-quality education they deserve.”
